1) Quote

“If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.”

#23 - YOU

Greetings Beautiful People

One of the reason I started blogging is because I was tired of receiving so many emails from companies trying to sell me stuff that I didn't want or need. I finally decided that instead of cursing under my breath about it every time it happened maybe I could actually do something; offer something which might actually be useful.

These are the kind of messages I receive now:

"Just finishing up Art of Original Thinking. Check this paragraph out:"

"What you bring to the table, no one else has - they have not had your experiences, they have not suffered your losses, they have not learned your lessons. You are a wellspring of originality. You are a mine full of jewels that others can use, as others are to you, rich with treasures only waiting to be found. And no matter how different we appear to be, on the inside we're all exactly the same - wanting to be loved, wanting to love, and wanting to be seen through the lens of compassion. To take this step toward public discourse, to reveal ourselves honestly and emotionally to others - this is, in itself, a generous gift. As Ramana Maharshi writes, "Your own self-realisation is the greatest service you can render to the world."

#22 - Lyric Remix 1: Cold-hearted by Blu

Greetings Beautiful People

Every now and then I hear a song and get inspired to write something to it, last week I was listening to Coldhearted By Blu & Exile ft Miguel and penned something. I used the same rhyme pattern he did for most of the verse, this is what I came up with.

Here is the instrumental, if you want to get your rap on:

Am I learning to teach, or am I teaching to learn?

#21 - Breathing Part 2: My Co-worker Is A !&$%

Greetings Beautiful People

My intention was to share some of my experiences with conscious breathing in Part 2 but I know some of you have co-workers that are...let's say challenging :), so we'll get to that in  Part 3.

Here's an extract from the book in which Ingrid talks about her experiences with a difficult boss:

Observing the Breath @ Work - The Art of Effortless Living pgs 112-113
"The first time I used awareness of breathing to influence events in my life was in the early stages of my transition from being an academic to developing a practice as a healer. I was doing some public relations consulting for the president of a college in New York City, and this president had a habit of asking me for the impossible.

#20 - Breathing - Part 1: Letting Stress Go

Greetings Beautiful People

1) Quote
“The trick is to commit ourselves to being with the breath and to finding a way to gradually let that breath become easier and deeper, no matter what. That means making the feeling of inner ease more important than what we are achieving, where we are going, or whether people are listening to us.”
The Art of Effortless Living, Ingrid Bacci

#19 – A Constant Suicide

Greetings Beautiful People

1) Quote

“The warrior, however, understands that the end result of any study is a kind of death (sublime, not necessarily physical) before the attainment of perfection....to die as a warrior means to have crossed swords and either won or lost without any consideration for winning or losing.”
The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi (translated by Stephen F Kauffman)

2) Extract from A Constant Suicide by Brian Krans

“Don't exist.
Live.
Get out, explore.
Thrive.
Challenge authority. Challenge yourself.
Evolve.
Change forever.
Become who you say you always will. Keep moving. Don't stop. Start the revolution.
