I posted the following Anais Nin quote on the w0nd3r Facebook fan page on Saturday:
“You live like this, sheltered, in a delicate world, and you believe you are living. Then you read a book… or you take a trip… and you discover that you are notliving, that you are hibernating. The symptoms of hibernating are easily detectable: first, restlessness. The second symptom (when hibernating becomes dangerous and might degenerate into death): absence of pleasure. That is all. It appears like an innocuous illness. Monotony, boredom, death. Millions live like this (or die like this) without knowing it. They work in offices. They drive a car. They picnic with their families. They raise children. And then some shock treatment takes place, a person, a book, a song, and it awakens them and saves them from death. Some never awaken.”
― Anaïs Nin
On the same day I watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and it fit so well with the quote that, yes. I've turned them into a post. Not due to laziness, no, but because the quote is awesome and I thought the film was pretty damned good too. I struggle to find decent films or television these days, in fact I might have to start looking into indie film, world film and documentaries etc
This movie was beautifully shot, Ben Stiller (who if I'm honest I kind of gave up on after Night at The Museum franchise) smashed it and Kirsten Wiig is great.
Watch it, particularly if you have a job or a life that is a little less than inspiring right now...
